Kaila's Christmas List

Okay I really hate doing this but every holiday or birthday we get asked what Kaila wants so I am trying to make it easier on friends and families (and myself) by making a list so people kind of know what Kaila uses on a regular basis. These are usually practical things for Kaila since she doesn't play with toys. I hope no one takes offense - this is not a registry just something to help since Kaila is hard to shop for (I struggle every Christmas and Birthday!)

www.armbraces.com Kaila wears a 7 inch medium arm brace and likes any of the pink combos, flowers, hearts & butterflies, and the denim. Kaila also wears the bibs that armbraces.com makes.

Kaila is in love with Dora now.

Kaila wears a size 5 pants, a medium shirt and size 13 or 1 shoe. (She always needs socks)
Kaila loves music, bubble bath, pretties for her hair, and books.
There is also a website that has adaptive toys http://www.flaghouse.com/search.asp?SKW=CAT1_VC&category=Special+Populations%2ESwitches

Kaila loves things/toys that light up and make noise (the weirder the noise the better for her).
We are also trying to help Kaila link her school day to her home so we bought her a little digital camera with case as a late birthday gift from Grandma Cindy, Paul, and I. So if you can think of some other child proof technology that she might like for school or home please let us know.

I hope this helps- I thought this was going to be easy to put together but it wasn't and maybe I will think of other things later on. Thanks for reading!

It's Coming!!

6 more weeks till the big day! Only one more week till my Bridal Shower/Bachlorette Party! I can't wait. There are still things that have to be done for the wedding - I go for my first fitting on Monday and I am dropping off the fabric for the flower girl dress at the same time. Kaila has a dress that is being adjusted for her tiny frame. We still have lots to pay for so I am hoping that Ed McMahon comes knocking in the next few weeks :) I have lots going on in the next few weeks like a conference for 4 days for work, a trip to the Rett Clinic for Kaila plus school. My Mom will be here mid August but I still have to work most of the time (I only have the 3 days before the wedding off). Cross your fingers for us that everything comes together.

All about Kaila

Kaila is going to be walking down the aisle with me and she will look so very pretty. After the ceremony Kaila is being baptised so that is very exciting - she is going to have the best God Parents in the world Sue H. and Paul Jones. To learn more about Rett Syndrome visit www.caringbridge.org/visit/kailamaclaury where Kaila has her own site (which I rarely update) and there is a site dedicated to Rett Syndrome http://www.rettsyndrome.org/

Kaila is very excited that Paul is becoming a permanent part of our life. You should see these two together. Kaila looks for Paul when she comes home and she often cuddles up next to him and falls asleep. Paul really cracks Kaila up and it is so fun to watch the two of them together.
Paul has brought so much happiness and laughter to our life and we are so lucky that we found one another.

The Beginning

This picture was taken after date #3. It was a long drive to Boston and to meet up with Jamie, Christopher and Pat to see Cirque de Soleil, the show was Corteo. We dined at a great Japanese place that Jamie loves in Brookline called Fuyakyu. After this fabulous evening, and long drive, Paulie realized he could not be without Shirley. She was his shining star, his long road-trip companion. They were meant to be...
